Interesting close-up a few minutes ago. This is the first time I've seen greenery up there! Is that fallen tree branches from all this wind and rain? (although don't know where they would come from in downtown Winnipeg!) Or do the chicks actually have a wee little forest beginning to grow up there?! ??? (LOL) That would certainly give them some shade on the hot sunny days! ;D

I think they'll be okay, Moonstar.  They'd have the same weather in the wild, and Mother Nature has equipped them to deal with it. :D

Good to see all three chicks in the corner.  At one time I could only see 2.  It kind of looked like one was on the ledge above the chicks.  Something is there not sure what it is.
Poor chicks look so wet and not very happy.
Tracy, will this rain and cooler weather affect them in a bad way...like make them sick?

Ooooo! Thanks for the close-ups, camera person! Have those chicks ever grown! And they must be pretty wet, after all the rain! :(

One on the drain cover, one beside the drain cover, one having a snooze in the noth corner. Only a tiny little puddle at the south end by the poop art.
Not too windy, still wet stuff coming down, but more of a drizzle than rain.

And now one is perched on top of the drain, looking around.  It feels lots better than last year. ;D

Snack time.  My first year was last year.  I feel so cheerful when I see the rain coming, but the chick is bigger than the drain, very unlike last year.  It's good to see the chicks are able to endure separately, instead of in a huddle.  It's good to see one saying, "Rain?  Ho hum.  I need a snack, so let's shake the wet off my feathers and see if anything is left"

No rain at the moment, everybody looks good, just wet. There are some wind gusts happening (watching the tar paper flap) Hope today turns out to be better than lastnight.

Morning roll call - one in the north corner, one by the drain cover and the third on top of the drain cover.

Wonderful photos Dennis - I'm amazed at the terrific shots of the facial expressions of the chicks during the banding. Their expressions range from "wow - this is cool" to phrases that would not be appropriate to type  ;)

I couldn't find the chicks when I first looked  until I saw this "lump of mud" moving.  Soaked to the core.  No fluffy white showing!  Just dark wet feathers.  Hopefully the rain will ease off a bit until they can at least get the water shaken off.  They are all okay!!!

Holy moly, did they ever get dark overnight!!  So happy to see 3 moving around this morning!  Is the rain going to stop today?

Wet but not down - some wing flapping going on and wandering around the ledge. Looks like they've found something to nibble on - early breakfast, maybe?

One of the parents just dropped off food. Two of the chicks rushed him or her and were briefly sharing until one ran off with it.  The other chick stayed on the drain cover.  One chick is eating now and the other is watching.  Was a very small bit of food.  Zoom is far out, chicks are wet so it is hard for me to tell who is who.

It's like the chicks know when I make a post as they always do something completely different as soon as I hit the button. They're now broken the huddle and are looking out over the ledge. There are some gusts rustling their head and neck feathers, but nothing substantial yet. I read TPC's weather reports yesterday...hopefully the gusts won't be too bad.
