Welcome to the forum, cadria and as saroise says, you will be off and running. And as I have said in the past, "Hang on to your hat, it's going to be a bumpy ride". Thanks to TPC, Dennis and Eye-Spy and the fledgewatchers, even after all have fledged, this forum continues even after they migrate. Snow will fall before we no longer post and wait for the return of our Radisson Royals, WW and Brandon families to begin another phrantic year. gcg

Agree with you about the wind.  Went outside at break time to gauge the temperature and altho' it's mighty warm, the breeze certainly makes it more bearable.

The wind is up so that is going to help with air movement, which although its hot, is better than hot and no air movement when you are in a nestbox.  Could also encourage her to stay at the box until it gets cooler and the wind dies down a bit, particularly if she is contemplating the "leap" ....

She does seem rather unsettled.  Poor thing.  It's got to me insanely hot up there, especially under cover in the shady area...  :-[

Saw a good picture of our Beatrix this morning. She looks,  :'( , all grown up!

Thanks for the welcomes. :)  Glad that Carson is ok.  They do an awesome job at Wildlife Haven.  I am glad that they were talking about what to do when you see a fledgling....education people about wildlife is important.

Susha, I have two budgies.  Life is never dull around here.  Birds are so amazing! :)

The sun has hit the front of the nestbox and Beatrix has headed inside to lie down and keep cooler ... so far, she hasn't found a spot she likes ... might prompt her to try her luck and jump down on the ledge where she will just have nice clean cooler concrete to lie on ... for awhile at least ...

... she's down again in the back left corner ... now up again ... and down again ...

Just heard, on CBC, the supervisor from Wildlife Haven, talking about fledglings in general - what to do when you see one, etc. - and about the star in their center right now, Carson!  Says he's doing very well ;D
