This really is sad news, TPC. Even though most of us never didn't see her, it was exciting to think that there might be another nesting pair in the city. Another sad chapter in, as Kinderchick said, a difficult year.

It might be Cowboy hanging out at HSC these days - my date-of-death for Kate is an estimate but it seems that the HSC bird reappeared about a week ago ...  we haven't had success catching the bird, but we will keep trying until all the birds have left town ...

OMG... very sad news, indeed, about Kate's death. This has been a very difficult year for our peregrine falcons.

More sad news, Kate (of Cowboy & Kate) was found dead this morning.  She died a few days ago either as a result of running afoul of a building downtown.  She was close enough to the Radisson she might have been trying to avoid Ivy and/or Princess but given that the Radisson kids are all long up and flying, probably not too likely.  Probably got caught in some of the high winds we have been having - wouldn't matter how good a flyer she was, she really wouldn't have had much chance.

That's really very sad news.  So sorry to hear about Kate's death.

6:15 last night - one bad bird at HSC.
He/she was up on the usually letter "j", but what was unusual was that he/she was facing the wall.  Some birdie must have been misbehaving and got sent to the corner to face the wall for awhile.

Some birdie was here again at 7:00 last night at HSC.  I am guessing the same visitor as last week.  Same size and definitely an adult with a bright white chest. 

Good hunting ground for a late night snack.

Could be Ivy, his breast shows the most white of the 4 resident birds ...

Whoever birdie is was back again last night about 5:30.

This morning the sign is sparkling in the sunlight:  no birdie.
