Gee I stand corrected!! Guess I can't see very well but I live a mile away so perhaps the weather is different at The Mckenzie Towers. If that is the forecast for Brandon then maybe she will be washed right out of the nest box(I hope not), so far there has been only 2mls of rain and very little wind :)

Not sure when the rain started and the forecast precipitation amounts are the possible "up to" amounts.  At the moment Hurricane looks find, maybe a bit damp around her face but she's been soaking wet before and all has been well.  Considering her eggs are still a couple of weeks from hatching, the next couple of days of wet will be more irritating for the parents than for the kids-to-be I suspect.

Hurricane is getting a bit wet - she's tucked into the corner, head facing out and the gravel all around her is wet.

Forecast for today

Day - Overcast with a chance of rain, then rain in the afternoon. High of 18C. Breezy. Winds from the NE at 15 to 20 km/h. Chance of rain 90% with rainfall amounts near 24.1 mm possible.
Night - Overcast with rain, then a chance of rain after midnight. Fog overnight. Low of 8C. Breezy. Winds from the NNE at 20 to 25 km/h. Chance of rain 90% with rainfall amounts near 21.3 mm possible.

Another wet day, a little rain , a little drizzle but should be dry in the nest box, the wind is from the south west and just a gentle breeze. :)

Rain and drizzle off and on all afternoon but dry  in the nest box. Hurricane has made sure that the scrape is in the very southwest corner of the box, that's the most sheltered part of the box. Brooklyn on the eggs at 1730 hours and Hurricane on one of the lights. :)

I see Brooklyn and Hurricane are becoming well known in Brandon, they are being discussed on ebrandon.ca (that's a local Brandon forum). People that work in downtown Brandon seem quite interested in them. It's only taken over 20 years to get to this point. :)

Just tuned into the cam and it's raining in Brandon.  Still sunny and beautiful in Winnipeg - thought maybe there wouldn't be rain after all for the long WE, but I'm sure it's headed for us.  Oh well, it's good for the flowers and the eggs don't mind... ;)

Brooklyn in the rain, well sort of....he's not getting wet!  ;D

I noticed Hurricane's left eye keeps closing and opening back and forth while the right is open.  Not sure if it's the sunlight bothering her, an insect, dust, or something else Tracey, but, should keep an "eye" on it.   8) ;D ;)

Its a natural reflex, but not one to wind or particulates, but rather to boredom or sleep deprivation, depending on the timing.  It's like cats, they sleep lightly, often opening their eye or eyes to check what is going on.
Good to know Tracey, I was a bit concerned.

Well all these strong winds have blown Brooklyn and Hurricane's cached food to the street.  I saw an intact red-winged blackbird and a least sandpiper on the road by the McKenzie building today.

This is the link to the CBC Falcon Cam website. Currently it shows the date when they expect to go live.
Yeah we are live.  Currently checking both.  Looks like we had a shift change at the Radisson site (Ivy), and watching Hurricane for the McKenzie site.  I noticed Hurricane's left eye keeps closing and opening back and forth while the right is open.  Not sure if it's the sunlight bothering her, an insect, dust, or something else Tracey, but, should keep an "eye" on it.   8) ;D ;)

I don't think there is anything to worry about both falcons do the same thing.
