Do you know when you will be banding the Brandon birds?

We are working out the date - need to coordinate 5 schedules - end of next week though.
Should have a confirmed date I hope today or tomorrow.

Earlier today one of the chicks was picking at a bird head, it had a long beak and before they ate it I believe it had black legs.   ;D

... I like that Tracy has been posting the weather... so I can know what the chicks and parents are in for.
Ditto, Jazz. :)

In part because the weather has been erratic this year, in part because I'm providing the same information on Twitter, but mostly because a large percentage of our forum members and visitors do not live in Manitoba and therefore cannot just look out their window to see what is going on.  Add to that that the cams don't show the weather except when its snowing or raining and that the chicks everyone are watching are vulnerable to rain/cold when they are young, the weather at the nestsites is of interest.  And this isn't the first time I've posted the weather, for years on the old blog (before the forum) I used to have a widget that posted weather updates daily.
What a perfectly logical explanation! ;) I never saw or read the old Blog but I have been a member of this forum since it's beginning and I never knew the reason for the forecasts. I just supposed that like me and wanted a forecast for a different part of the country or world you just Googled what you wanted. That's really good of you to think of the large percentage of forum members and guests that don't live here and can't look out the window and see what's going on. Thanks again for the explanation, so now I know. :)

Hey look, just like yesterday  ::)  (I'm abbreviating these now ...)

Boy I sure hope not and everyone in Brandon sure hopes not, nobody in Brandon wants to go through last night again! I'm sure any one from this area has checked the forecast many times a day over the last two weeks and I'm sure anyone with a computer, radio and TV etc. can check and so I'm just wondering why this year you have started to post forecasts daily on these threads when posted forecasts was a rare occurrence in past years?

I was looking at the chicks during a meal just now and looking at their feet, I'm willing to bet that we have two females and a male in that box right now ...  :D

That's what I've been thinking, but I keep changing my mind ...two girls....two boys.....hmmmmm!  :-\  ::)

Rose, I know I like that Tracy has been posting the weather as I never check the Brandon weather (TV, radio, internet) and rarely even check for Winnipeg weather.  So it works for me so I can know what the chicks and parents are in for.
