2113h: 82ml of rain in the last hour and a half, still light rain, thunder and lightning but sky is a little lighter. ::)

Hey Cooper you liked my on the spot weather report, I had to go out in the rain to get the reading (that was when the water was still pouring off the Mckenzie building and you couldn't see anything in the nest box). ;)

Chronology this morning ...

  • looks like one of the adults was in or on the box most of the night ...
  • 0659h - like the Radisson birds, later than usual breakfast due to the rain
  • 0911h - sun came out, chicks awake doing some preening and wandering
  • 0937h - Brooklyn dropped by for a visit - couple of minutes and no food, kids didn't look impressed
  • 0954h - Brooklyn turned up with food, Hurricane co-opted right to feed the chicks (bossy moms this year!)
  • 1025h - Brooklyn returns with food & feeds chicks (sneaky dads this year too)

Weather forecast ... nicer than yesterday ...

Day - Mostly cloudy in the morning, then clear. High of 27C. Breezy. Winds from the West at 15 to 20 km/h.
Night - Partly cloudy. Low of 15C. Winds from the WNW at 10 to 15 km/h.

Here's a short video of the thunderstorm last evening, it poured for about an hour.

As soon as you switched the cams the buzzing started.  ::)

Coincidence I think RCF because the softwares (sound & cam) and hardware (cam, sound, CBC & Project) are all separate.  And when I switch from one view to another, it's the software, there are no moving parts ...  :-\ ... puzzling ...

This view makes the scene look like daylight but it's actually pretty dark and you really can't see anything any better and the storm seems to be over. :)

Already switched it back - there is a little bit of a lag between when I switch it and when it shows up on the CBC cam page  :)

Have tweaked the camera angle to let folks watch the storm for a bit.  The window cam won't have enough light (except the lightning) to watch for much longer anyway.

Can't really see anything with this view either.  ???

Was that Quote too long for this thread and do we really need such a long weather forecast, seems we didn't have them last year.  I thought that you didn't like long posts because they took up too much space. :)

Boy don't need a weather forecast to tell me it's raining in downtown Brandon! Now in the last few minutes the sound has actually come on and you can hear the rain, mike has buzzed all day I don't bother reporting it because the sound has been like this(buzzing and real sound) off and on since the cams went up. :)

Holy moly! Weather looks to be nasty in Brandon right now. Pouring rain & lightning on the webcam. Actually, I can hardly see anything now on the webcam. :(
