At 4:00 PM CST, meteorologists are tracking an area of severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail, damaging winds and heavy downpours.
Radar indicates a severe thunderstorm just northwest of the City of Winnipeg moving to the east.
Take cover, if threatening weather approaches, within a sturdy building, away from windows.
Strong wind gusts with large hail can damage property, break windows, Dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods.
Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow fast moving water across a Road can sweep a vehicle away.
Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.
