Weather forecasts are notoriously unreliable, but it seems that the rain may have stopped for now and I can actually see clearing skies off to the southwest of Portage Avenue; clouds are moving quickly across the sky. So there may be hope for Des and whoever else might be out there watching. Maybe now the boys will come out to fly around and a parent may drop off breakfast for Vesper (who I hope is still in the nestbox!). This working for a living really gets in the way -- although I'll be downtown after 4 today, I'd really like to be there right now.

10:10 am Wpg time.  Just finished thundering, lightening, strong winds, hail and rain in Fort Garry. It was doing this for about the past 45 min to an hour.
Ooops rain starting again and coming down pretty hard. Loud clap of thunder also.
Hope that Vesper, Ty and Tupper are okay and the fledge watcher also.
I will keep checking here for reports as I can't watch the cam from work.

Satellite shows clear to Montana, warm but muggy for a while.

Afternoon heating may create more rain later.

Starting to get a little lighter out. The street lights have gone out. Think it's safe to leave now.

Seems to be lessening here. I'll make a dash for it soon (just waiting for that darn phone battery to finish charging. . Yeah, it's done!)

I'm still trying to get there. The rain had stopped, I was just waiting for the phone battery to finish charging, and would leave. The rain has hit again, comibng down in torrents, with all kinds of thunder rolling around in the background - or maybe that's the wind. My only consolation right now is that nobody would be doing much flying right now, though from the cam you're not getting this downtown. Yet. I will come as soon as I can get out of the house without getting drenched (garage not connected to the house).
Hey sami, I just pm'd you

9:30 radar shows it heading east to downtown but hopefully soon past.
Barometer is rising slightly.

Sheets of rain were hintense in Lockport but  slowing now.

Anyone know how long this is expected to last?
This is what Environment Canada says: Showers or thunderstorms. Risk of a severe thunderstorm. Wind south 30 km/h becoming west 20 gusting to 50 this morning. High 23. UV index 3 or moderate.
AND right now we're under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

Sounds like a good day for the falcons to stay under cover as much as possible. Vesper, no flights for you!
