An amazing picture.  Is it Radisson urging him on from above?

By size it looks like Ivy - Ivy had just brought in food and Tenzing missed getting there - he had good height coming in but I think he pulled up a little right at the last minute.  He hung on there for a minute, minute and a half before following Ivy.  It may have been half and half get back to the nestledge and get some breakfast!!

Well done Dagny!!!  We'd been having no luck finding him and I hadn't been through the recordings yet.

Bonus points for catching his ascent back to the nestledge    (nice when a name turns out to be even a little bit appropriate!)

Dagny that picture is an incredibly important shot, way to go!!   We know he's okay, we know he can fly and we can see he wants to visit home where Hillary is.  I'm so glad you caught that.

Tenzing returned for a few minutes.  He couldn't reach the top of the wall, so he clung to the side of the ledge.  Then he flew away again toward the south.

Do you mean the nest ledge?

Yes.  He was clinging to the point where the smooth top of the wall meets the rougher wall below.
He seemed to be trying to fly up to join Hillary on the wall but didn't succeed.
