1253h

Haven't had any reports involving a peregrine in the downtown (or anywhere else) and haven't been able to spot Tenzing or Hillary using the cams.  Interestingly, haven't seen Princess for the last couple of days either (I'm going to check the recordings to be sure) so she may be hanging out with Tenzing - she's done that in the past when one chick goes away and doesn't come back to the ledge (not uncommon), she's disappeared with them leaving her mate, both Ivy and Trey, to babysit the nest/ledge.  Have seen Ivy in and out of the nestbox this morning - pretty standard routine for him.

So far no reports of problems but I haven't been able to find her yet with any of the cams.  Not really surprising, we don't have 360 degree coverage and if she is tucked down in a place like the ledge on the MTS Centre, no way to see her until she moves.  Ivy came in with food at 0719h and looked surprised that no one rushed over for breakfast - he headed off in the same direction Hillary & Tenzing have been taking.

No news is good news ... but she chose a good day to go - winds less than <5km/h forecasted

Weather for today ...

Day - Partly cloudy. High of 27C. Winds less than 5 km/h.
Night - Partly cloudy. Low of 22C. Breezy. Winds from the South at 10 to 25 km/h.

Have repositionned the cam to be able to see all of the ledge - I'm not convinced that Hillary will fly tonight but in case she has had enough of being by herself, we should be able to see all the action this way ...

Unless, like Mayshowers and I, you blink!!!!!! ::) ::)

My computer screen was freezing off & on, but I think Hillary fledged at 0545h.

Ivy just flew past the nestledge and got Hillary up and flapping again ....
He'd been on the nestbox hanging out in the sun before that.

Great shot of Hillary...she has a crown of lighter feathers just like her mum, more-so actually :)  Princess's princess  8)
:)  I had noticed her crown a while ago and I am not sure if the crown will fade off or be replaced by black feathers.  Time will tell but for now we have a "Princess Hillary" to watch and royally admire!  :D

Only time and luck will tell.  She needs to make it through fledging, then her first year, then to find a boyfriend and have young.  Maybe someday we will see a photo of an unbanded chick with a crown of photos that looks to be about the right age and it could be her ...  :)

Yay!  Nice close-up of Hillary on the Radisson Camera, preening, and hanging on the ledge, thinking, no I think I will stay a little while yet.

The lone female chick is beautiful!  Thank you so much for this forum, for those who lurk in the background (me  ;D) and for those who are very active on this website.  Also, thank you Tracy and Dennis for your dedication and for everyone's enthusiasm. . . :-* ;) ;D
