Looks like three chicks hatched. You can see two heads and one fluffy bottom beside the egg.  

This is the oh-so-cute stage, when the pick is still showing through their hatch-down ...

This is great news.  Last year, they only had one fledging.  I see mom looking down at her offspring, very proudly.  I wish this cam was running stream video, it is such a clear, excellent view of the nestbox.

Just got an e-mail form George and cam cannot be fixed till next week. I imagine we will see fluffies by then.

Our Genesee pair have not been getting much attention lately, what with all the concerns with the University of Alberta site, but these two are due to have the eggs hatch; it could be sometime tomorrow.

Been watching all morning.  Male on eggs for several hours, but at nest exchange male exits and right leg is unbanded.

I am still trying to get the band of the male but I am hoping and thinking he is same as last year, and RCF is right . We Id the feamle a bit ago. Gord, confirmed Same female as we have seen since I have been watchng this cam

Great capture, Leana!  Looks like 4 eggs.  It is so hard to get a peek here.  They like to stay close to their eggs, right?

Do either of these banded birds have names, bev, or are they just known by their bands?

Do we know their band numbers yet?

I think they know the band number for female.

It's pretty scratched up, but does suspiciously resemble 1/D (H/V) banded at Telus Calgary in 2005 as a nestling, first id at Genessee when Geoff caught her in 2009.
