Yuck! I just witnessed mum (or dad -- although is he ever allowed in the box?) throw up one of those....pellet things of undigestible bird parts/bones etc....I don't know the name of it, but the equivalent of a cat hairball, I guess.

I wouldn't have watched except that I thought she looked like she was choking, or in some kind of distress and then I realized that she looks exactly like my cats do when they're about to throw up!  And sure enough, that's what she did.  Not to be too graphic or anything, but she looked at it for a moment, then kept opening, closing her mouth as if to say, "ew, that didn't taste very good!" , but like everything else, she's left it right there, right behind the chicks.   They really don't mind what they're sitting in do they?!

Anyway that was another 'first' for me --- so much learning to do!

I received a notification that they would be banding the chicks on the 9th, but I think they must have meant the 19th.  I emailed Brenda at the Plant but haven't heard back yet.  I'm sure they will post a notice on the website and that it will get posted here shortly thereafter :)

It was pouring rain earlier here, but the sun seems to be out now.  Mom is hanging out in the box with the chicks still though, so perhaps there is rain I can't see.  Usually she's on the ledge (still in sight of the camera) these days.  I wonder when banding will be?   ???

Well, a noisy lunch has just concluded and the chicks are heading back to the corner where they like to pile up.  It's naptime, after all.  :D

I know it's already been said, but WOW!  I cannot believe how big they are! (and yes, very noisy, lol).

Well, today is a breezy dat but the chicks are in a pile in the back corner and seem quite content.  Mom is hanging out on the ledge enjoying the breeze.  I keep the sound on but low and always know when it's feeding time!

Note to self:  if you don't want a very screechy and loud alarm at 3am (5am nest time), then don't leave the birdcam up and running on your computer.

LOL, Pchemist.  That is too funny.  Yes, these three are an incredibly noisy bunch for such little balls of fluff!  I am listening to Vinyl Cafe on my laptop and have the cam window open, and sometimes they drown out Stuart McLean!

lmao too funny Pchemist. They are a noisey bunch that's for sure. I have the webcam up now actually and they are a noisy bunch. Funny to watch. But like someone else said in another thread not the same as our family in Winnipeg.

Goodness gracious!  it woke me from the next room!!!   :o

Lunchtime sure is a noisy affair!  Nobody being shy about getting their share, either.  It's amazing how big they already are.  I'm assuming banding will be soon.

Well, these three are doing very well, and it's a delight to see!   ;D  Very mobile now, and exploring their nestbox.  Under mom's watchful eye (and she's also providing nice shade for the kids).  The remains of breakfast are still around.
