Tracy, these chicks seem younger than when you banded ours last year.  Is it just the distortion of the fish-eye lens, or do they seem smaller to you, too?   ???
\

No they are more than a week younger than we band our chicks - they hatched out on the 25/26 May which makes them 18 days old.  We don't band until minimum 21 days, usually a couple more "to grow on".  Elk River however has a very experienced peregrine person working with them, so I have no doubt that they have it all in hand.

It is soooo funny seeing that chick yawn while waiting for mom and dad!   :)

I'm really glad I got to see that!  I had the window minimized, but all of the sudden heard human voices coming from the speakers.  Confused me for a second, but then I realized what was going on.

Three part shreeky harmony for a bit, but all calm now.  Can't wait to see mom/dad come back!   ;D

I heard the woman say something along the lines of "here is your big sister" when she put the second one back, kinda wish they would have told the camera all of the sexes.  Or perhaps she did and I didn't catch it cause those kids were being so noisy!

Looks like they're ready to put the chicks back after cleaning the camera lense and some dead stuff out of the nestbox.

Mom or Dad just came back to the nestbox and is making alot of noise, I can just imagine!  "Where the heck are my babies!"  Now it sounds kinda sad. :(
It'll be ok!

Awesome!  I guess they bring them down to do it.  I wonder how long it takes?

well it looks like this family survived last nights thunderstorms and rains.  3 bundles of fluff in a group hundle.  Mom/orDad sitting out on a beam just out of view.  Some shrieking going on from the adult I think. Calling breakfast in?

I wonder if this is why they were fed five times today -- maybe she knew the storm was coming and she wouldn't be able to go hunting for awhile.  So she stuffed them!
