Only a few short days ago, many were concerned and downright fearful that the Radisson would not be a nesting site. Regardless of where the birds have decided to nest, we should be grateful that they have done so.
Each nest site has it's advantages and disadvantages.
West advantages - more and easier access for banding, cameras, and sound.
Disadvantages - not so many safe buildings to fledge to.
East, advantages, wonderful fledge buildings that make it easier for the fledgling to return to the nest.
East disadvantages, harder and more expensive to band, no sound and only one camera.
I'm thinking that the birds know what they're doing and really don't care what we think or feel.
Something in the female is telling her to nest on the ledge - that's what she did, and we have to be content with her decision.

We look forward to your updates bccs.  You have the perfect view of the nest ledge when you are at work.

It's so exciting to hear that there are eggs at the Radisson and, with any luck at all, we'll soon find out who the parents are! TPC, I know that it's a worry to have them on the nest ledge -- as I remember it, you had said a couple of years ago that, with the nest ledge being relatively close to the ground, it doesn't give the fledglings as many good possibilities for their initial gliding/flying experiments. My fingers are firmly crossed!

:) I'm glad to hear there is a pair of peregrines nesting at the Radisson, not so glad at the spot they chose.  ::)
So happy to hear about the eggs TPC!  I hope we can figure out who the parents are.  Nevertheless, the ledge will be a weather challenge.  But, P.F.'s in the wild just prefer the ledge.  Hope it all works out well.

Gotta love those peregrines for keeping the humans guessing and being coy with their canoodling and leg-displaying.

Seriously though, I'm thrilled to hear we have two eggs at the Radisson, no matter where the birds chose to nest. I'm sending best wishes for a successful hatch and fledge! The world needs more peregrines, because peregrines rock!

Oh cr@pitola! I hate the nest ledge.
Typical guy - sitting up in the shelter while the lady is out laying eggs in the cold.

Well, the game is afoot!  I'm thinking the freezing weather has something to do with the more clandestine canoodling that's been taking place.   8)

...as did Princess, for that matter!  Just arrive quietly and get down to the business of starting her family.   :)

(If it is Princess of course ::))

Colour me surprised, anxious and happy, all at the same time!

Good luck to our peregrines... and good luck to you too, tpc, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Wow!  Eggs! We have eggs!

Amazing that no suspicion of Princess' return, let alone canoodling, occurred, yet eggs have been produced.

I would hope this is Princess, if Ivy could be jittery as a first time ledge Dad.

The bottom line is that we have eggs, and the season is on!

OMG - what a surprise!!!  :o- Is it Ivy & Princess?? .... ??? Is it Ivy & Joli?? So disappointed they've nested on the ledge  :( - it's just so much more unsafe for the 'kiddies' what with weather issues and fledging too. Plus the extra expense for 'Tupper Bin' installations and banding.  But GLAD to see we have eggs at least!!! - Can't wait to see who the 'gal' is and hope it's Princess!  ;D
