Remember the box is 30 feet above the ground, the water has nowhere to collect so Hurricane and Brooklyn are going to be the only ones who get wet ... and the chicks will be fine, there are only three and they are all still small enough to fit under Hurricane.  And both the adults appear to be good at feeding quickly in the rain so the chicks don't get wetter then they have to before they get snugged back under.

Nothing to be done but wait and watch so long as it doesn't distress you of course.

According to the Weather Network Brandon is in the midst of a light thunderstorm and the rain is suppose to end in 5 hours.  Hang in Hurricane!!

Poor soggy birdies . .. I hope the rain lets up soon.

I also recall TPC saying that the nest has good drainage.

I just can't believe how hard it is raining in Brandon.  Poor Hurricane she is just soaked.  I hope the chicks are okay.  This weather has just been horrible this year for humans, birds and animals.

tpc mentioned that this site has always drained well.

Here's hoping I understood her correctly. Can't help feeling awful for the beating that wet, wet bird is taking. :'(

Wow, the wind sure is shaking the camera around!  I really wish this crappy weather would disappear pronto.  She's certainly keeping her chicks covered and I did see them squirming underneath her.

Its much darker now in Brandon so methinks there is a huge dark cloud (huger and darker than most of the day that it) ... darkest before the dawn I guess ...

Okay, was just checking on Hurricane and Brooklyn ... ugh ... scrolled down to my earlier forecast for Brandon then held my breath and went to the Environment Canada website to make sure the outlook hadn't changed ... sigh ... clearing tonight and it is suppose to be a bit warmer (18C) than earlier predicted (16C), light winds and SUNNY!!!

Another feed at 3:15pm in the rain.  I could see Hurricane was talking, she left at one point and immediately came back...no food.  There was more talking and she left again,  Brooklyn was in for just seconds and Hurricane was back with food.  She fed the kids, but it looked like she couldn't find the right spot to feed them, she kept going from one side to the other.....maybe she was trying to stay out of the rain.  I guess she finally decided they had enough or she decided she was getting very wet and took the leftovers out.

The Kinderchicklets were watching Hurricane in the rain this morning. They were feeling very sad for her, getting so wet like that. A few of them asked me to switch back over to the Radisson chicks because they weren't getting wet. ;) LOL.

Great photo, RCF -- these little guys are really growing, aren't they?

Yes, they just get bigger every day.
