Oh my, this is so sad
 :-[ :-[
I am so grateful Tracy and the firefighters for your brave attempts to try and rescue the chicks.  they were just too small ,I guess and had no body heat of their own yet.

I will check back in.
thank-you everyone for being in here today to keep us all company.
i am at a loss for words right now and that never happens.

Perhaps now is the time for us all to think about this.

What an awful, sad day.
Those poor, poor chicks. I'm so heartbroken (as I imagine everyone is)... I just don't know what to say.

I still have not left but.....
Beautiful poem.

I think constantly about how through these cams we have bridged many world wide connections. we all share the same passion and compassion of nature and these wonderful raptors.  We laugh together and cry together world-wide. Our compassion went out to the Netherlands last year and we all banded together.  A great support system has developed for the treatment of 3 eaglets in the USA. donations are coming in world wide.

If through nature we can all come together, what is the matter with our politicians.
And on that note I must run.

I think this is so terrible what has happend.  I was thinking last night how big they were getting, it's just not fair.  The rain for today had been forcasted for awhile and we knew it was going to last awhile, perhaps next time if they nest on the ledge again, a closer eye should be kept on the weather and quicker action plan should be in place to prevent this tragedy from happening again.  Don't get me wrong, the rescue effort was great, just a little too late.  :'(

It's a very very sad day today, with everything going on (weather, winds etc...) they weren't lucky at all.

May they rest in peace !! :'( :'(

I feel bad for Tracy and all who look after those living creatures.

I hope that all turns for the best, wishing Princess & Trey well.

I watched this pair last year and enjoyed every minute of it.  I started again this year about a week ago when the cam was actually operating.

This 2008 year has been really bad for many bird nests.  Bald Eagles, Ospreys and now Peregrine Falcons have suffered losses.

Sadly, CBC Winnipeg news at 11:30 CDT just reported that the 3 chicks were rescued but did not survive the wet conditions.

Watching the cam closely I think I see both Princess and Trey.  One is flying from the domed building to a street lamp and the other is flying from the building across the street to a street lamp as well.  Can't be certain that it's them from all the distortion (rain, distance).  But it seems logical.

Leaves tumble to the ground
the snow begins to etch
pathes in the sky

Another death in the
making
a time to let go of
a love that can never be
fulfilled
and a love that itself
will never die

Another leaf
another tear
another heartache
another step towards
the door
another
goodbye.....

I wrote this poem 9 years ago and it sums up how I feel right now and no doubt the many other people who have watched the events of the last few weeks and including today.

It's amazing how three tiny creatures could have such a profound impact on so many lives during their short time on Earth.
