T, what time are you going to be there tomorrow to look for Mum and Dad?

So long as nothing interferes, including the rain, I'll be there in the morning, 8-9 o'clock.  Once I find them I don't know how long I will stay around though, I would like to check on the West Winnipeg birds and they are much more difficult to track down.  So if I miss anyone that decides to come out, we can make a date of it in the near future.  Okay?

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I apologize but it has been a long day and I done.  I will post to the blog tomorrow, along with the one I missed from Thursday.  Will be going out to check on Princess and Trey and anyone else I can find and will also post on them.  I thank you all for your support and your concern and I wish you all a gentle rest tonight.

Tracy

I know I haven't posted at all yet this year but was following the babies again.
Tracy, I am so very sorry for the day's events. Raising a few birds of my own I know the heartache you must be feeling. ((((((((Hugs))))

Tracy, I can appreciate what you mean when you say,

And still I hold my breath just a bit longer just in case.  And today just sucked.  But tomorrow, tomorrow I will watch Trey fly ...

I've loved birds of all kinds but none more so than eagles, but any bird of prey has my fascination, birds in general simply for the fact that they have this amazing ability to migrate as far as they, then turn around 5 or 6 months later fly back to the very spot they left and do it all over again. Birds are resilent and even if Trey and Princess don't renest again this year, they will do it all over again next year, hopefully at the Radisson.  My heart is with you Tracy.

Now the other thing I am sure people are wondering is how you are holding up Tracy?

How am I holding up?  Today sucked.  I have watched Trey since the day he hatched.  He has come back to downtown since 1998 waiting to take over the territory and then in 2000, it was all his.  I have watched him incubating, brooding, feeding, protecting and defending all of his chicks from everything that has ever been thrown at him.  He is one of the charmers and he is a favourite of mine.  Princess, though new, is a great peregrine and a great mother.  Never had any worries about her knowing what to do and she wasn't quite 2 years old when she hooked up with Trey.  I love when they return in the spring, I love watching them sleep and I love when they are chewing me out on the roof.  And I can watch them fly for hours.  Their chicks all have personalities and every year, I wait to hear if any of them are nesting somewhere.  I know the risks these birds face every day of every year.  And every year I hold my breath until they return, until they nest, until they hatch, until they fledge and until they migrate out in the Fall.  And still I hold my breath just a bit longer just in case.  And today just sucked.  But tomorrow, tomorrow I will watch Trey fly ...

I am numb. I can't really believe it yet.
I will miss those sweet young souls.

I had been planning to watch and video them as they grew...

If you want to see how far I got you can check out the uploaded videos on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/fingersfancy

Hugs all.

Very well said Bally,

QUOTE I realized we have made a little world of our own here in the Falcon Cam Forum during the past couple of weeks and it was comforting to come home to all the 'gang' who feel the same way I do. Watching the eggs, the parents, the hatching, feedings, the fuzzy white butts , sharing the waiting, the humor, the excitements, the worries, checking the weather forcasts.......this became such a huge part of our lives in such a short time, it's really amazing.

QUOTE "At least we all have each other to share the grief with.  Thank goodness, cuz a few of the people at work thought I was nuts when I started crying at the news!"
I soooo agree Liz - I actually had to leave work today due to extreme upset, I couldn't function at all - and it hit me that nobody in my office seemed to know anything about this...it was just business as usual. Nobody to talk to or share the ordeal with. I realized we have made a little world of our own here in the Falcon Cam Forum during the past couple of weeks and it was comforting to come home to all the 'gang' who feel the same way I do. Watching the eggs, the parents, the hatching, feedings, the fuzzy white butts , sharing the waiting, the humor, the excitements, the worries, checking the weather forcasts.......this became such a huge part of our lives in such a short time, it's really amazing. - I hope Princess & Trey somehow know how many people tried to help them and were praying for them today. Though I wouldn't blame them for being completely worn out after this season of challenges and heartbreak - maybe we can hold out a bit of hope that they'll try again. In the meantime I think there will be an emptiness in our hearts for a while. Hope everyone sleeps well, it's been such a draining day. Goodnight all..... :-\

I am glad you asked that eagle 63.
with everything happening I think we have forgotten the emotions that Tracy and others that work with her must be feeling.
Take care, get a good rest and know that you are applauded for your efforts and I am just greatful you are here to oversee everything. Last year was my first year watching this site and my first take was what a warm and caring person you were Tracy. always willing to inform and answer questions.

Take care

Beg hugs your way.
