1604 hrs (local) - they will start hacking anytime now - you may have noticed that some of the chicks got feathers with their snacks this time around.  One also got a great-yo-honking-foot which he actually tried to swallow!  Quickly figured out that wasn't going to be a snack item and managed to hack it up as well.  When I get the video downloaded this weekend, will be sure to save that little gem!

Finally got 1 and 1/2 of two of the other chicks stuffed under her - she's facing the camera with two fat little chick butts under her breast - and now everyone seems to be down for some serious napping - Princess included!

Snack time!
Greyish all over prey . . .  tasty pigeon?

When do the chicks start hacking up pellets like the adults?

1539 hrs (local) - definitely saying "Daddy we're still hungry!"  Trey's been looking around alot, so could be he's tracking Princess as she's hunting or he's looking for her because she's away hunting, or defeathering or chowing down before hunting for the kids' food and defeathering ...

So cute, babies giving Trey kisses; I think they're saying, "Dad, we're still hungry"!   :P

Maybe they are saying, hey Dad, what are you doing up on the grate cover instead of down here keeping us warm?

Looks like the wriggly chick pile is getting downright restless.  Maybe it's getting near feeding time.

1346 hrs (local) - Princess is back and stuff chicks under her with a vengeance (good job!!!).  All chicks undercover now.  Still cold out and while they are now just at the age to be able to thermoregulate on their own, this kind of weather is not what they can handle for long periods of time.  Not to worry, a bit of time out from under Mom/Dad won't hurt them at this stage in normal or close to seasonal, dry weather, but today is just too cold and windy so Princess is going to stay on them for most of the rest of the day I suspect.  Tomorrow is suppose to have some sun (how much is up for debate apparently) but it will be twice as warm.

Tonight there is a risk of FROST!!!!!    :'(

It looks like the one little guy has the right idea - he's trying to squeeze under his siblings :)

Trey is standing up a bit now, giving a great view of three wiggly chicks underneath him.
Looks like something up above is catching his attention. I'm getting a crick in my neck just looking at him!

After a bit of nest-cleaning, he's gone away. Probably to clean the rest of the ledge!
Chickpile.

That's our Trey, can barely fit one chick under him now but he's going to try to get all three of them there ....

Actually, I think he's just playing windbreak for awhile ...

Not a baby, just smaller than the peregrines - and keep in mind they usually strip off the wings and head so it looks much much smaller ...
