One of the chicks is feeding himself, gnawing on the leftovers!
Sigh, how quickly they grow . . .

I think that's Princess - at least I think I'm seeing a crown of lighter feathers.

plus just the size compared to the three chicks.  but a view of the chest speckles would be useful.

didn't get a clear view, and now whoever it was is gone.  ah, well.  it was an entertaining feed!  The kids are clearly waiting for more to show up, too!

Mom has come over to hang with the chicks, though not really offering much shelter from the drizzle, she's snuggling her warm chest into the pile.

so, I see Princess has gone over to provide some warmth, but not an umbrella, and the ledge-edge looks like it might be dry again.  Yay!

yep, can definitely see that now.  but since Princess isn't concerned, I'm not going to be either.  :)  The kids are all having a good preening session.  I wonder if new feathers coming in is an itchy process?

so, looks like I can use that ledge for an indication - it looked slick before, and now it looks different.  guess Princess took a look at the sky and realized the drizzle would be short lived, and decided the kids could deal with it.   :D

At about 9:50 it was pouring in Fort Garry.  It didn't last long but I was wondering if it hit downtown and how are the chicks.  Wish I could watch at work.

It's stopped for now - I guess my command worked  :P - but I see some seriously dark skies coming in from the west.  :-\

thanks for that, ballywing.  I was wondering if that looked a wee bit damp.  Princess has gone all fluffed up, but she is not too worried it seems, since she's not on the chicks.  She did seem to peer at the sky, perhaps to guess at the weather for the day....
