Getting windier out there (judging by the camera movement), and the temperature has dropped. There are thunderstorms just south of the city, with lightning spotted just west of the city. Nice of Mother Nature to hold off until after the banding!

We just had a really heavy downpour after a big wind here in Brandon.  Prolly on it's way to the Peg.

Just HAD to be the bearer of bad news, didn't you, Bird Lover? You know, Brandon really could keep some of the bad weather once in a while!  ;)

I think Tracy would be the one to answer that question.

I was wondering about something, hope one of you long-time watchers may know the answer. I've been watching the chicks preen since banding and none of them seems to be "picking at" his/her bands. To me, this is odd because most critters seem ultra-sensitive to anything foreign on them (for eg., a ribbon around a kitten's neck -- certainly not the same, but the best example I can think of right now). Are the chicks' legs less sensitive, or what?

Since TPC is in the house let me say, for me a big THANK YOU to you Tracy for all you do for the falcons.  Your dedication speaks volumes when you are able to get on a swing stage to go band 3 chicks. I'm not sure if I could have done that.  Maybe maybe not.  To Dennis, your love and joy speaks volumes through your photography, can't wait to see some of what you shot.  To Bob, the biologist, and the stage people we all thank-you for your part in this big operation.

THANK-YOU ALL!!!!!!

however, they did think it was cool I did the interview for the radio.  there's that.  or at least they acted interested, which was good enough for me to carry a conversation on for a bit.

TPC....Great job today and Bob...you've got quick trigger fingers...way to go on a quick banding!
TPC....You made it look so easy and you were so calm about everything.  I truly envy you and what you're doing.  Your devotion and dedication is admirable!  Thank you!  Princess & Trey and all of their chicks are lucky to have you.
Also...a big thank you to:
DA Matthews....they must of been a little nervous with Princess and Trey diving toward their heads!
Eye-Spy...thank you for the tours of downtown while waiting for the banding you commence and pointing out a few important people watching the event.
Dennis...I can tell that you love the work you do.  I could see that on your face while you were waiting for the event to happen.  Your photos are alwasy wonderful and I can hardly wait to see them!
Thank you to CBC, SHAW and to the Recovery Project for bringing peregrine falcons into our living rooms and offices.
