Thank You so much for the update bccs  ;D I am so happy Sis stayed on the west ledge after being released. after seeing the news report I have a better understanding of these beautiful creatures. and respect for Tracy going in without protective gloves..ouch.Glad the LC and HS are enjoying breakfast. Did Sis get brought some food this morning also? o you think the boys will head that way to find her?

Mornin', Bccs -- thanks for the up-to-date word from the street (including the news of where fledge watchers are posted for now -- I expect, as long as our girl stays quiet, that's where they'll be). It's especially good to hear that she didn't immediately take off from the nest box. After her adventure, a quiet day of rest and recuperation would be a good thing -- and I'm not sure who needs the rest more: her or us!

thanks for the report BCCS. I am so happy that you got to see her. You have done a great job on fledge watch.
So has everyone else.
I am glad she did not immediately take off, like the one 2 years ago.

I love their whimsical look.

the eyes of dogs ,cats horses, birds . , they all get to me. They seem to have that look of ,please dod not harm me , to awe, to all knowing. I do not know how to describe it. but I am sure you have all felt it.

They just make me melt.
I am of for a few hours but will check in

One of the parents is on the antena and one on the nest......So glad sis is ok. I worry they will be ok.
Are you ref. to the east side?
If you are on the west side where are the fledge watchers hanging out?
Both sides of the Radisson?
Yup the east side willmax, and the watchers are now across the street from the MTS Centre, about mid block.

Good morning everyone.  Thanks bccs for the early morning update and the whereabouts of our boys.  We won't need to worry about mum and dad finding the location of their daughter.  Happy to hear that Sis spent a good night at "Chez bathtub" and that she is healthy and squaking.  Just read your late update Tracy.  Hope you got some sleep.
Well I'm off.  Will check in every so often for updates.  Have a good day everyone. ;D :)

If Tupper and Ty follow the food, maybe Vesper will not be so lonely in her new
west penthouse. And maybe with the coming rain and wind early tom. morning
they will have better protection there.

"West Side Story" LOL

Can anybody refresh us about  how the 3 chicks from 2007 fledged from the west nest?
Only one I can remember was the one corraled by a bus driver and rehab.

(Yes I know I am jumping the gun on their names but only Tracy will sort the male names and make it official.)

Morning all. It's been quite a morning so far. When I got here, about 4:45 am, both boys were on the Paris building. One flew over to the Radisson Hotel, and landed on a window. Meanwhile, Trey dropped off some food for the boy at the Paris bldg, so of course, window boy came darting back to the Paris bldg. and both had a good feed.
Dennis showed up, then Des and then TPC.
Lucky me, I got a peek at our girl. Magnificent!!!! She was in a pet carrier and I could see through the front. Colours so vibrant, piercing eyes, and her beak was partly open.
TPC and Dennis went to the roof, Des and I went to the other side of the Radisson where the nest box is.
After about 10 minutes, out popped our girl. She's had a few little flaps, but, so far, seems content to stay where she is.
And then the show started.
P & T were none too impressed with Tracy and Dennis being on the roof. Swooping, yelling, hanging in mid-air, kind of like a banding all over again.
Wasn't hard to know when they left the roof, the parents settled down.
TPC and Dennis then came over to where we were, had a wee visit with them and now here I am at work.   Sigh

Tracy, thanks for the updates.
Looking forward to reading the updates on her release.  I hope she doesn't just jump out of the nest box.
So sad for me looking at an empty nest ledge.  It is good for the birds tho doing what they have to do...flying free.

So glad to hear that all is well wirh Sis. Thanks for the update on last nights Observations and on your blog, TPC! Chez bathtub, eh?! :o You are amazing! Good luck to all our ground Fledge Watcher Forces and to Sis and the brothers! Hope today is interesting but hopefully, without incident! :P I'm off on holidays so will have to check the Cam and the Forum from the east. I expect the chicks may be gone, upon my return, but maybe not? :-\ Wishful thinking! I'll await some updates. Bye for now. :'(
