What a diffierence a day makes.  I actually got some real life work done. It wasn't nearly as much fun as checking in on our falcon family. Did manage to check in every few hours .  Saw Trey and one of the boys.  Many thanks to the fledge watchers for looking after sis and the boys and keeping us updated on their antics. I'll definately be there next year.  Being part of the forum is much more fun than just reading.  Happy that Sis decided to take a day to contemplate her next fledge.  Thanks to all and good night

Liz, I'm sorry we all missed you. I was downtown from 4:10 until 7:45, most of the time on the north side of Portage across from the MTS Centre (perched on one of the concrete flower planters, looking up). MSDoolittle was there and Deb, and Pam -- then we were joined by Elaine, Linderlou, Bccs, Allikat, and Allikat's mom. Along the way, we were temporarily joined by three lurkers (who we encouraged to register).

Not long since I got back from downtown, perching on a concrete flower planter, with eyes glued to the nestbox. Missy left the box a couple of times to scurry along the ledge, even did a bit of flapping while we all begged her not to do anything foolish, not tonight! Guess she decided that being the excitement for one night was enough, because she settled down, with a parent watching from high above. It's quite interesting to see the change in the boys' flying -- they're gliding, soaring, and flapping all over the sky now, looking as though they actually know what they're doing.

Fledge watching is great when there's a group of people who show up. When you're watching alone, you're always afraid you'll miss something important. Also great to meet people. I'll be there tomorrow after 4 -- hope to see some of you! (Oh, P.S. -- since so many have asked, my name is pronounced SEAR-sha -- no, Bccs, your way isn't even close! -- it's Irish for freedom.)

I was searching in the online photos for a picture of the west penthouse but  could only find one from last year of the new nest.
Wanted to show others what we were seeing in 2007 and what is there today.

don't have an actual picture of the nest box, but if you look above the R in Radisson .. the first black window thing .... the is a whitish ledge.  that's where the nest box is

Thanks for clarifying deb about the boys! I was just about to ask if bccs meant that they were visiting their sister or on another part of the top...
Glad to know they're getting that much height now!

Boys are very adventurous now, even hanging out on the top of the hotel.
I forgot to mention that the boys were on top of the Radisson earlier today. That's pretty good flying, right? To make it way up there?
(OK out-of-towners, it's tall for us anyway and much taller that the nesting ledge! :D)

Last air quality update of the night. Was just at the site with bunches of people, Pam, Elaine, Saiorse,Allikat, Allikats mum,  Linderlou, if I've left out any one, sorry, sorry.
Our girl is still on the nest ledge box, pacing back and forth, not looking like she's going anywhere tonight. Mum and dad are not far away, on the tower, Radisson sign, and in the nest box. Boys are very adventurous now, even hanging out on the top of the hotel.
Great night, all is well, and I'll update in the morning.  night guys.

Look, just like Dad  ;D

When he (LC or HS) was hopping around all over with that left over wing in his claw? I noticed that too  and thought how Trey-like, and had to laugh although I almost thought he was going to go over the ledge when he was half on and half off with the wing still in his claw! Too funny.

Also in addition to what I just wrote below, there was only 4 or 5 minutes between LC's departure and Trey's arrival for his short stay.
