Radisson - 2009 / Trey & Princess

It was Trey that just left after spending about 5-10 min on the ledge, scraping (or whatever it is that he's doing since we first saw it yesterday) in the gravel, but one of the boys was there when I logged back on about 40 min ago. He left as I was posting about seeing him and initially thinking it was the sister--so the ledge has has quite a lot of traffic in the past hour!

The biggest difference I noticed between Trey and his son while seeing them come and go this past hour really hit me when Trey arrived. He is definately white breasted and he gracefully and almost like floating, landed on the ledge. Also, there's space between his body and the ledge where you can really see his 'puffaloon' legs. I noticed that the son was brown and no space or leg was visible while he was in the same position as Trey was on the legde. (I know Trey can cover his feet too, but he didn't do that this last visit).  Anyway, just thought I'd share what I observed because it really hit me just now!

I was searching in the online photos for a picture of the west penthouse but  could only find one from last year of the new nest.
Wanted to show others what we were seeing in 2007 and what is there today.

At one point this afternoon - around 3:30 maybe - there was some terrific brown smoke or something at Portage and Memorial behind me and everyone - including our wee miss - was looking in the direction but I didn't flinch, gang. I kept my eye on the bird!

Watched the news on CBC tonight in case they mentioned the birds again.  They had footage of a white van that had caught fire on the south side of Portage Ave just outside of Portage Place, so this is probably what you saw.

And he (she) is gone......a short visit. I think it was Trey???

Whichever parent it is, they were digging around in the gravel for a bit.

 Now they are in on ledge looking out.....and now they are gone.

Oh, forgot to say. (and might as well get credit for two posts and not one ) when I left there were two watchers on patrol (MsD and, I'm sorry [brain is fried] but I forget the other woman's name but she was also there last night for the Sis retrieval) so the girl is in good hands.

the other person was Soairse (sp) and Pam was behind us, but we didn't see her at first.

when i left Elaine had also come and Bccs was walking down the street.

There were also a couple ladies that read the forum that came and said hello.

When i left little miss was just sitting there not doing too much.

princess was sitting on the attena for quite awhile.

Oh, it so nice to see someone on the nest again. Had I not caught up on this afternoon's posts, I would have said that it's our girl because of size, but reports say she's still in the penthouse.  I'm glad she's stayed there today!
