First egg

I can't see the one on top, rcf, but I know that you know what to look for.  Whoever is in the box, is looking very forlorn, there in the shadows

It seems that the fella has been trying to coax the girl to settle down and she just doesn't seem to be ready.  Maybe we'll be surprised and see an egg tomorrow - that girl we saw earlier was definitely carrying something in that booty of hers!

It's funny that with this bright light, it looks like a reflection from glass around the ledge and not just the wall.

Just took these screen captures and both are there, one perched on top of box on far right. Hard to see the one falcon on top so I took two captures, one with two birds and one with only one in the box.

Looked like the male to me, susha, but I'm not absolutely certain.

There was only one when I first checked in, and still.  I'd say it looks small (so, male) but it's kind of hard to tell with the shadow.  Certainly very protetive - I keep saying, Move over so we can see!

Well, now I think it's just the young felow in the nestbox

He and his lady-love were both there awhile ago, then I thought he flew away and she stayed, but that looks like the boy in there now...

Generally they do, they get a kind of thousand-yard-stare and look "constipated".  I know that sounds anthropomorphic, but its that kind of stiffness and distractedness that everyone seems to be able to recognize for some reason.  And the females usually stay that way for a few minutes after the egg is laid as well.  

Yes, it's the "I'm going to put my mind into getting this thing out of me" also known as "I am NOT having ONE MORE CONTRACTION, darn it!"

Now she's gone or out of camera range at least.  Where'd she go with that egg?!?

She's out of the box and perched on the edge now,  looks like she's napping.

If she is in labor, it looks exhausting and maybe quite painful for her.  Will it ever end?  The poor girl, she must be wondering if it is all worth it.

Or she's just napping and doesn't care she's got humans worried about her

At least she's not leaving the nestbox .  Do birds experience "labour" when they're about to lay an egg?
Could it be that the contractions (they must have contractions of some kind ) could have stopped for awhile..and she's resting up for the real thing?

She has a very puffy rear end, so surely this means something.  I hope she is planning to pop out an egg very soon.  Maybe I have it all wrong, and she is just relaxing and snoozing.
