Here's a question (or three!):
I've been watching this cam for several weeks now this year, and it always seems to be (based on my intermittent viewing) that male who is initiating courtship, at least in the nest box. He seems the most persistent and usually hops into the box first. So hopeful! So persistent! Is this typical, in terms of gender roles, for peregrines?
Also, how long does the courtship behaviour continue? Until copulation? Until egg-laying? Until the birds actually start brooding, sitting on the eggs?
Do we have any more information on who these birds are this year? Are these last year's? Do they have a record of a successful nest?
Aw, gee, they are so beautiful and fun to watch . . .
I'm so happy that I can "preview" these birds until Princess and Ivy appear on screen (always the main event!)
