Thanks for the info, Elaine!  I wonder how long it'll take Sawatzke's girl to lay another egg... ::)

Here is some news today from the people at Great River Station:

"This is a new pair to our nesting box. The male falcon’s name is Sawatzke. He was banded at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant near Monticello, Minn. in 2009. The female falcon is unbanded."

To my eyes, it looks like she has two eggs!  And is working on the third!  These two have gone from "when is something going to happen" to what looks like 3 eggs in the last 24 hours.  Maybe I am seeing things, I don't even know if this is possible.
I just checked the nestbox and all I can see is 1 lonely egg and no bird in sight.

Woo Hoo!!  An egg!!  Thanks for the photos, rcf - I'm at work today and can't access the cam, so it's nice to be able to see that elusive first egg on your pics!

The egg has landed, and once again, I have missed it.  I watched her lots yesterday afternoon and last night, but I just have not been lucky enough to see the happy event.
I'm in the same boat Elaine L.  I'm always in the wrong spot at the right time. :-\

Empty nestbox now, and it looks like still just one egg . . . perhaps the second egg we thought we saw was the shadow of the snack that Dad brought earlier? She didn't seem to eat much of it; she was slowly picking away at it for over an hour . . .

But yay for egg!  :D

Just think, 24 hours ago there were concerns that this pair weren't going to nest here at all ...  ;D
Nothing like keeping their viewing audience in suspense!  :D

We have an egg!

And I just saw a food exchange, so Dad's making sure that Mom has the energy she needs after that long night of "labour"!
