Sawatzke is on the eggs right now; these two have been doing a really good job of trading off/taking turns.  What a relief, after all the problems we have had elsewhere.  I hope things continue to go well here, it is such a great site!

I can now answer my own question.   Mama Elke finally unglued herself from the eggs to jump to the perch and give the legs a streach.

Saw three eggs.

Wish we could get rid of the spiders and their webs.   Wonder why they pick the cams...maybe the heat given off (?)   Or it must be the bugs attracted to the light that give the spiders a fine meal.

This morning it was Sawatzke on the eggs, while the missus/Elke watched from the rung outside!

Sawatzke is a very attentive male.  Almost every time I look at this site these days, he is either on the roof or on the rung outside the nestbox, keeping watch over the Missus.

Three beautiful eggs visible this morning as parent takes a break for breakfast.

Someone on eggs, and some feathers floating by so maybe the other parent close by and preening.

Now I can see a face, so I guess it's working now.

Yay!  A third egg!  Last time I checked, there were still just two...my view is fine, Liz.  Parent is sitting peacefully on the "pre-kids"!

Elke Sommers was married to Joe Hyams, a writer. She filmed with Peter Sellers. (He was married to Britt Ekland who looks a lot like Elke Sommers). Her maiden name is Baroness Elke von Schletz. Elke would be a lovely name for the new girl here!
