They face west but are tucked in pretty deep in a corner so they might well be wet from rain blown in by the wind. But to answer your question, yes they are protected, they have an overhang and aren't near an edge.

We have agreed to the building owners'/management's request not to publicize the location for privacy reasons, so I'm afraid we won't be posting the location details for this pair this year LinderLou. We will however be keeping everyone informed here on the forum and photos when we have them.
