Madly off in all directions.  :P  Wingersizing all the way.

Thanks to whoever is manning the cam right now.   :-*  It's great to get a perspective on the rooftop.  I didn't realized that there were so many sky lights, etc. up there.   :o

So cool to see the kids exploring and checking out their wings.

Great view of two of the Brandon juvies!  Won't be long now before the rest of us will lose sight of these beauties :'(

I guess it's just frustrating and disappointing for us because we were used to seeing the chicks in the wall nest box until they fledged. Last year was the first year for the camera and the chicks were put on the lower roof where we couldn't see them from the ground.  We have to rely on someone to move the camera whereas we could go to the McKenzie bldg and watch them with our own eyes anytime we wanted.  The camera is wonderful and I did enjoy watching them from egg right up to the banding. And now, when they are in camera view and I happen to be watching, I enjoy that too!  After they fledge I will be seeing them morning and evening almost every day until they leave on their winter vacation.

I think some of the comments regarding the Brandon cam are totally uncalled for.  I agree with Saoirse, ballywing, Pense and transplantedmaple - with all the time and effort TPC and the others puts into the project FOR FREE, I believe we should all grateful to them for their great efforts to bring these gorgeous birds into our homes and our lives every year.  Yes, sometimes it can be a tad annoying if the cameras don't work just the way we want them to, but this does not excuse the (what I feel are) rude comments.  As the saying goes "if you don't like what you are seeing, don't watch (and don't complain).  Just my 2 cents worth.  :)

Well Jazzerkins perhaps I'm paranoid. I do believe you are talking about me but I have a perfect right to express my opinion and since I have rarely watched the cam since the chicks went on the roof  your last statement(if you don,t like it don,t watch) really doesn't apply, besides in just a very few days I'll be able to go down and see them up close and personal from now until they migrate. :)

I have no complaints.  Just much gratitude and appreciation for all the work put in by the volunteers (TPC, Dennis, Eye-spy, et al) that gives us a brief window every year into the world of these beautiful birds!!
I see the times on the postings that TPC puts up and can only imagine the long days all the volunteers put
in (especially TPC).  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Ditto! Very well put Pense.

The cameras, colour and sound are amazing as are TPC, Dennis, Eye-spy and the Brandon volunteers.

The cams have improved incredibly over the past few years, thanks for all your efforts TPC and 'team' -  always remember that the vast majority realize how lucky we are to be able to view so much of these birds' summer season.  :D - Your time and endless toil - all unpaid and sometimes unappreciated unfortunately  :-\ - have gone a very long way to increase interest, awareness & support of the Peregrines, which was your goal.  8)

I am greatful for the chance to see them. I have watched through the internet and dreamed of seeing them fly. Laughed and cried at all the things to see. Learned through the forum about the birds and the limits of what man(TPC) can do for them. And have found out that falcons are in my own area, and have gone out to see them. And love the people that can report on the daily life, that I can`t see.

Hmmm, lots of backseat camera drivers here.  Also interesting after working for four years to get the cameras up and operating here, it took one year for folks to start complaining.  Except for the internet connection this year (which we hope to improve next year) the cameras have been working well.

No complaints here, TPC. It seems to me, though, that it would be impossible to satisfy everyone all the time, even if you were working 24/7 on the Project. I agree with Susha that getting a glimpse of the birds at all is great, and being able to view the birds, from egg to fledgling, has been a rewarding experience for me. Although you're not paid for the work you do, it's well beyond what volunteers usually do!

Certainly no complaints from this chick. I am very grateful for all of the camera views we have been fortunate to have, both in Brandon and Winnipeg. And I am especially grateful for all of the many volunteer hours that have been spent by TPC, Dennis & Eye-Spy. :-*
I too am happy for all we can get.  Heck people, what if they didn't even have anything, no cameras, no forum, nothing!  I know it's hard to satisfy all!  Just be happy for what we can get.  Right now, it's like going through withdrawl now, until we start up for next year again.  Again any brief pass-by's or updates appreciated.  Thanks All.  ;D ;)

It's been a long couple of days - I'm in the field working off a virtual dial up service so doing anything online or heck, by cellphone, is more frustrating than fulfilling.  So sometimes timing is everything - if I were home with my feet up in front of my computer with snacks it might have been "water off a duck's back".  Or maybe not.

Next year we will see what the year will hold and how we can perhaps make it a bit easier on viewer and operator.  ;)
