:) :-* Congratulations, RCF, I just noticed you have reached 2500 posts. If I can speak for all, what would we do without your photos and videos.  :-*

Checking out the closeup of the three all in one corner, and I can't help but notice that all three are sporting mohawks.

TPC mentioned that Radisson's chick at the UofA had a real mohawk, not just a few tufts on the top of his head.

I think that these Brandon chicks also have a fairly well defined mohawk. It may be the "Year of the Mohawk". What do you think?

I have been wondering if and when one or more of these juvies were going to be fitted with transmitters, since they are so close to fledging. Hope all goes well today, TPC. :-*

Looks like tomorrow (Friday) we will see if we can safely retrieve Maya, Hunter and Sol for transmitters.  If we can't, we can't.  If we can, we will.  Not sure of the timing will depend on the birds and we will be hijacking the camera to make the necessary assessments, so if you are getting a strange view or watching a tour, you'll know why.

Funny you should mention this as I've been wondering when they were going to get their antennas!  Isn't it really difficult to catch them at this stage?  I can just picture you running around after them on that roof.  LOL.  ;D

No running, no even fast walking.  If the chicks are too "old" by which I mean too close to fledging and every chick and every nest is different, then retrieving them is a quiet, careful activity (think making friends with a porcupine with wings).  And if they are too close to fledging, even quite and careful will not be enough and we don't want the little porcupines to fly just yet.  ;)

Wondering if anyone else in the area is watchng these birds besides you and Rose. Was there a fledge watch in Brandon last year?

There is nobody else watching that we know of, haven't seen anyone else while we have been there. There were three of us at one time but BirdLover moved to Alberta, so just Rose and myself watch.  And for fledge watch , there is nothing official and this is considered a fairly safe site for the fledglings. I work during the day and check morning and after work and if the parents alarm call while the cam is still on,  Rose who is retired will go down and check if I'm working.  :)

There are a few birders around Brandon who go past and check out the birds but they are not as regular or consistent as RCF and Rose (and in the old days BirdLover).  And they aren't members of the Forum, so they only contact me if they have something unusual to report (like the return of a bird/birds in the spring), not so much the day to day sightings.  RCF and Rose are the ones who provide that wonderful colour commentary.

I have to say my move to AB was for good reason (my grandkids  :D) but I sure do miss hanging out downtown and watching the birdies with Rose and RCF.  Miss you both and I'm glad you are taking such an active role in keeping tabs on our Brandon family.   :-*

Nice view right now of all 3 on the skylight.  Seems like the sky might have lightened up a bit in Brandon as there is more contrast now.  I was wondering... how do they get off the skylight?  Do they walk down the back or hop/fly to the ground?  Has anyone seen?  I'm sure RCF must have seen how they do it...

Oh for Pete's sake... I've been sitting here, staring at the screen waiting to see if somebirdie would leave the ledge, I turned around to talk to my daughter and when I turned back one of them was gone.   :-\

So it's still a mystery to me...

She just walked to the edge and flew straight off to the east blink and you missed it. ;D

Hahaha, this video is so funny... not so much the chick wingersizing on the skylight but the other chick who goes hopping past in the background at around 25s in.  Hilarious!

Well I’m thankful you and Rose are keeping check on them for us! Interesting though, as I thought you would have met at least a couple other people stopping by to see them, especially when close to fledge time...
Perhaps more people need to be become aware of the Peregrine Recovery Project.  :-*

I can hear thunder in the background and and it looks like it is getting darker on the roof, I guess there is a weather watch for Brandon right now and looks like its raining too.
