Logan - 2011 / Cowboy & Kate

Are these two a young pair. Maybe they are not ready to nest.

Cowboy is a 2000 wild-hatch from Brandon who was last seen in 2002.  Kate (or rather Katherine) is a 2005 wild-hatch from Fargo and there have been no reports of her since she fledged.  We have no idea if this is their first year together or if this is just their first year together here. 

Maybe they are just being careful. LOL

Some male birdie  Cowboy???  Ivy?? was up on the Buhler letters at 4:00 p.m.Thursday.  That's the first sighting of any bird this week.  

It would be Cowboy I think, from what I have seen, Ivy's staying a bit closer to home right now ...

Don't know if Cowboy and Kate have been together for long but he is 11 years old and she is six years, so not young birds and they did know what they were doing, even though they chose a poor location - it was pretty much the best location in the area.

I drove past the virology lab and there perched on the front roof was somebirdy surveying their kingdom. I assume it was one of the HSC pair.

A sure sign Kate and Cowboy are not around HSC - a pigeon was on Cowboy's favorite letter J this morning.

Neither Cowboy nor Kate were at HSC this morning and no sign of any nest on the suitable buildings on campus.  No sign at CSC either, just pigeons.  Did find them at the Crow's Nest, way west of where we have been seeing them recently.  They had been hunting so maybe just not ready to go back to HSC or CSC yet.

Same report today as yesterday - only one birdie at a time - he/she takes turns flying between the HSC smokestack and the letter "J."

8:00 -Some birdie up on the J of the Buhler building again this morning.

Still only seeing one bird at a time - whoever it was, spend the day flying back and forth between the letters on the Buhler building and the HSC smokestack.  Neither place can be very cool - both are in direct sunlight all day long.
