Hurricane doesn't look too pleased with the weather, there's been lots of thunder and lightning just a little rain and not much wind. The wind is from the west so nest box is dry. Hurricane has been on the eggs most of the day and has been doing some shuffle-shuggle does this mean that a hatch could be in the near future?

Brandon - Carberry - Treherne
2:26 PM CDT Saturday 28 May 2011
Tornado watch for
Brandon - Carberry - Treherne continued

Conditions are favourable for the development of funnel clouds or weak tornadoes. These types of funnel clouds form out of large cumulus clouds or very weak thunderstorms and normally do not have the energy to reach the ground. However one or two of these funnels may briefly touch down and can become destructive over a very small area. Treat all funnel clouds and tornadoes seriously and avoid when possible. Should one develop overhead take shelter until it dissipates. Remember these funnel clouds will normally appear with little or no warning.

Environment Canada continues to monitor the situation closely. Please continue to monitor your local media or weatheradio for further updates.

Should you spot a funnel cloud or tornado...And only if it is safe to do so...You can call 1-800-239-0484 to report your sighting. Please note this phone number is for reporting severe weather only.

The combination of a weak low pressure system moving across Southern Manitoba, daytime heating and moist unstable airmass produced favorite conditions for the development of funnel clouds today. A few reports of funnel clouds and pea to marble sized hail have already been received from various locations of Southern Manitoba.

Typically in these weather conditions funnel clouds form in the middle of the afternoon and dissipate early in the evening.

Shift change took all of ten seconds, Brooklyn doesn't seem to have any trouble covering the eggs!

There are tornado warnings out for Brandon and Winnipeg.  :o  I hope it doesn't amount to much.  I see its quite breezy in the nest box for Hurricane at the moment.

I've been teaching Rose how to take a screen capture, she sent this one this morning of Brooklyn napping.  I'll give her 100%.  ;D
Bravo, Rose! Excellent capture! 100% for sure! :-* And Bravo to you, rcf, for being such a great teacher! :-* I still need to learn how to capture screen photos. I've learned "the Photobucket thing", Rose, but haven't had the time to post photos yet. ::)

Something or someone was disturbing Hurricane and looked like it had something to do with the spy cam. She was looking right into the cam.  If Hurricane was disturbed, I can just bet Brooklyn was also disturbed and was probably swooping, diving and yelling at whatever it was.
