Trey just did a bit of nest maintence and is now facing the camera. The little ones are scrambling to get underneath him :)

As for a camera on the other side of the nestledge, not going to happen... Only one place to put it, and that's it.  Besides, anywhere else and the sun would shine directly on the lens and there would be no seeing anything for a few hours every morning ... can't see y'all wanting that!  ;D

Yes I didn't really think there would be another cam put up or anything, it would just be nice to have a better view of the little ones during feeding time!

Wow can't believe its been only a week since they were born. They have grown so much so quickly (as I'm sure Trey can vouch for as he struggles again to get them all shoved under him).

It's defiantely been a longer feed but I see the two in the back need bibs they've got food all over themselves.

Those "bibs" are probably their stuffed and bulging crops rather than food ...

It was Trey doing the feeding and now the brooding - too small for Princess.  Probably Princess dropped the meal off as he wasn't gone long.  Without the rain and wind, she is probably quite happy to let him do "his" thing.  She's probably across the street on the Sterling Building or on the Radisson sign above getting some well deserved naptime or preening up a storm before going out to "food shopping" for the kids.

As for a camera on the other side of the nestledge, not going to happen ... to see why, check out the
Peregrine Chick Blog entry for May 15th.  Only one place to put it, and that's it.  Besides, anywhere else and the sun would shine directly on the lens and there would be no seeing anything for a few hours every morning ... can't see y'all wanting that!  ;D

Happy birthday to the week old chicks. Hard to believe it's been a week since they hatched.

All told that feeding was 10 minutes. Now it's time to brood and let the kids have nap.

Tracy, what is the significance of Trey shaking his head as if it's vibrating, is it because he's cold?  Or is he getting a headache from the squirming kids lol

He does that alot, not sure why.  The Elk River female does it too if you watch her.  Might be just settling feathers, or knocking off rain or flies, but he does it rain, shine, sunny, cold.   Could just be a stress reaction - raising chicks is a stressful time (peregrine physically stressful, not human psychologically stressful) for the birds, brooding, feeding, hunting, defending, could be his version of hives.

Maybe we should have put the camera on the other side of the ledge haha. We always seem to get their backs during feeding time.
