We are still in a holding pattern so can't say when "it" will be happening.  Would be nice if it was tomorrow, the weather will be nice and warm ...

Tracy (or Pam, ballywing, MotherHen), where the heck is the (mythical) cherub on which Trey sits and whitewashes the feet?  I thought it was said the Sterling Bldg, but I see no such thing there; or on any of the other bldgs on the N side of Portage from Garry to Edmonton.

The cherub is just below the roof line on the south east corner of the Paris Building.  If you stand in front of the Vital Statistics Building (northwest corner at Portage & Garry) and look up at the pretty building across the street - the cherub is right on the corner.

I keep looking out from my balcony toward the Radisson Hotel, it's 7.37pm and no sign of window washer paraphanalia.
I think it may be too late for the move as the sun is setting.
As Scarlet said, tomorrow is another day,

Hey Liz, it's right across Portage from Vital Stats, on the north east corner of the building. There's a whole bunch of statue type things up there, kinda a mini fresco. If ya still can't find it, I'll show you on Friday from my rooftop.

Any chance you'll be able to get the egg when you put in the shelf? My instinct is telling me tomorrow. :)

Most experienced adults do seem to know when there is a problem with an egg and tend to discard it.  Certainly our birds always have.  Have only once ever been able to get to an infertile egg before it was "tossed" by the adults.  Princess and Trey in particular appear to be very good at telling and very fast at discarding.  For those of you who were around in 2007, remember Mistral's egg?  It was smaller than the others but they didn't stop incubating even though all the experts who checked the cam were sure it wouldn't hatch.  Last year Trey & Princess discarded an egg a week after incubation began.  Can't tell when they tossed the egg this time, will go back through my webcaptures and see when I last saw all the eggs ....

I thought they could not tell that they were viable. so then why would they remove one, unless it broke.

Do they know that one of the eggs won't hatch? If so, any idea how they can tell?

1530 hrs (local) - shfit change and our little Rockstar is on-duty.  Haven't had any chance to see the eggs for a number of days now but this time got a clear look.  Just like last year, one of the eggs has been removed from the nest by Princess or Trey.  The three remaining eggs all look great though and Trey is tucked up on them pretty as a picture!  The wind is bouncing the cam a bit but doesn't seem to be getting to the birds much.  Did manage to snap an image of the eggs and will post this evening!

Back to our regularly scheduled topic ...

1500 hrs (local) - Princess is sound asleep on the nestledge, facing north, face in the gravel.  Bit of a breeze fluffing her feathers but that's it.  Three o'clock and all's well!  ;D
