0855 hrs (local) - Trey is sleeping in the full sun on the nestledge.  Its dry, not windy and the forecast predicts 19C today for the peregrines.  All is well, heck, darn near perfect (knock on wood).  :D

Hello Lara & Katya,

Wonderful to know that we have followers down under.

I was a "guest" for quite sometime and then just decided to "fledge".  The forum is a wonderful place to share and experience all about falcons and the occasional "off topic" discussions  ;D
We are all looking forward to a great and exciting year for our Radisson pair, Princess and Trey as well as our West Winnipeg pair, Jules and Ivy.  These two pairs of falcons will keep our Falcon Goddess TPC very very busy!
2009 will be a fantastic year for the Peregrine Falcon, I just feel it!

Enjoy all of the excitement and drama! Good thing is that we can share all the emotions together!

Hope your friend from Australia knows they can log on here also and read this info anytime they want. I hope they can get some time to see these falcons in action. We are all anticipating the cam coming to life for the rest of us also.

Hi L and K. No worries about lurking, did it myself till I felt comfortable. We were all disappointed about where they are nesting this year, but read back in May and April and you'll see that plans are well underway to raise the chicks up so that we don't have a repeat of last year.
Awesome to know that Australia is following us, say g'day to them for me.

I'm a lurker hereabouts, but I just wanted to let you know that I (a former Winnipegger but now Torontonian) am glad to hear the cam will be on soon! I belong to a chat forum where we have our very own falcons thread and one woman in particular, who lives in Australia, is eagerly awaiting the time when the camera goes live, although it's often black when she logs on (her daytime is, of course, Winnipeg's night). I keep her updated on what I learn by lurking here, and she was crestfallen when she realized the eggs were in the same place as last year, as were we all! However, here's hoping for the best.

1815 hrs (local) - napping, napping and more napping this afternoon.  Oh, and Princess was eating flies I think.  Not housekeeping, definitely hunting something and eating what she hunted.  Royal Ick Princess  :P

1300 hrs (local) - she's still (or she's back) on the eggs.  Nice can calmon the ledge, don't see ay feathers getting fluffed.  The sun is not shining on the ledge anymore (its behind the Hotel) but there is still some distortion on the cam image from the heat radiating off the wall (heat ripple) so it may be a bit warmer there than we think.  All in all, a very happy time on the nest right now.

0910 hrs (local) - Princess is on the eggs, the ledge is hot and bright in the morning sun.  How do I know its hot?  The cam can see the heat "ripples" coming off the building and she is napping next to the wall.

1700 hrs (local) - all is calm and happy on the nestledge.  Trey is napping and his feathers aren't ruffled, he's not sitting in snow or water and there are no flies to annoy him.  Sitting pretty waiting for dinner and the shift change.
