I thought I posted this, but don't see it.  The ones with the chick were taken when he/she was trying to get under Mom's wing for some shade yesterday, and she sent him/her packing!

Have not watched other chicks from this next ledge. Did they react the same as these ones behavior wise or was it different. These seem to be apart most of the time except at night?

It's too hot during the day, remember they are kind of wearing down parkas!  Two of the chicks like to hang out together, one definitely likes to go his/her own way.

It is 12:15am and there is not a bird in sight.  All is quiet ecept for cars west bound on Portage Avenue.

didn't mean to be here to start this, but here I am anyway...  bet you can guess this - I can't see anything!  it's DARK, except for the building or streetlight.  I don't see anyone walking or driving or anything.  I am pretending I can see the chicks moving, but it's not true.

oh, a bus drove by!  *curtsey*  that is my big observation.

Pam, your photos held me spellbound.  Zoomed to only a couple of metres away, and hovering 14 stories above the traffic it seemed magical to have this brand new view.

They seem a lot bigger from the glimpse over the ledge.  They sure do look like chicks ready for banding soon!

Just makes me so happy.  They are restless tho, so who knows how long they will stay together.

Nothing new about banding that I know of.  TPC said Thurs or Fri, I think.

That chick pile is getting so big. I was watching the one chick break free from the pile to do a walk about and pick at something interesting in the gravel. I guess he that he wasn't too old for the chick pile and headed back to snuggle in.
