No, that's Heather right now, one of Phoebe's 2 chicks, still sitting in the nest, Doreen. Joplin keeps fledging and then returning to the nest. I've never seen a hummingbird fledgling return to the nest so many times. Most of the photos on this board are from past years, I think. Do you have the link to the webcam, Doreen? This is the first time I look at this web cam and it's really interesting.
Thanks for all the wonderful pictures. I've always wanted to find
a hummingbird nest, who knows maybe I will one day.

Joplin's hovering around overhead again; may be coming in for yet another nest landing! LOL!

OMG! Joplin is back again!!!

Ha!!! Just watched both fledging videos of Joplin. You are right, susha, second one is very funny, when Joplin returns to the nest and and pushes Heather out onto a branch so that he can have the whole nest to himself! Heather looks as if she's trying to get him to move but he's not budging! LOL!

Yup - it's been about five times now, that Joplin's left and come back.  It's been quite the show!  Apparently he goes to the yucca plant, about four feet away, then comes back.  Seems to be encouraging Heather to take off each time, but she seems to be very content to stay put

LOL! Now Phoebe's back and pushing on his back, almost as if she is encouraging him to get going, once and for all!

He's back again!!! I've never seen that before either. These 2 sibs must be really close. Either that, or Phoebe needs to teach him how to do his own cooking and laundry! LOL!

Joplin fledged (again) and returned to the nest AGAIN!   Has settled in for another nap.  Doesn't seem to want to stay away.  Everybody on the chat is comparing him to the kids who leave home and keep coming back

So, now he's taken over the nest and Heather is left to sit on the rim.  She's seems happy to have him back though

Mum just came to feed and is now off telling her friends, "Well, he left, but now he's back, hungrier than ever!"
