Missed the 1st hatch but enjoyed the videos. Yes, I do like the name "Joplin". I wonder if the 2nd chick will be named "Janice"?

First hatch this morning! "Joplin"!  Cool name.  There are some videos of the hatch which are amazing.

Thanks for the link, KC!  I've never heard Phoebe being so vocal either!  Perhaps she's saying "This is it folks!  After this, I'm ready for a break from parenting!"     Did you watch the one on the 26th, "Scout Being a Pest"?  It's hilarious!  My theory - "only child syndrome".  I definitely can relate!

Hatch watch starts next week, for what is likely Phoebe's last cluch of eggs for this season.

Host has posted a cute video of Phoebe serenading the webcam. It occurs near the very end of the clip. I don't think I have ever heard Phoebe being vocal before.

Thanks for the link, KC!  I haven't been watching as closely as I did during the last clutch (or while we were waiting to see if Scout's wee sib would survive ) so I hadn't even seen any wingersizing

I'm so happy Scout has left the nest, another healthy little hummer joining the big world

Also excited that Phoebe is working on another nest!

Fledgewatch started today for Phoebe's lone chick, Scout. He looks as if he's ready to go any time now. Apparently, Phoebe is busy repairing Kouki & Haruka's old nest. Maybe she will have one more clutch for the season afterall.

Chick appears to be growing in leaps andd bounds, as usual. Fledgewatch begins May 19th, just around the time our Radisson peregrine's hatchwatch in Winnipeg begins!

I'm always surprised they fit in that little nest as they get bigger, even when there are two of them. I guess Phoebe knows exactly what size nest is needed.

I did get to see him today and he has grown He's got the nest all to himself now so I guess he's aiming to fill it up as soon as possible!

I haven't been able to get a peak at Scout.  Apparently, it's very hot at the nest (85 C) so Phoebe's keeping her/him shaded.  It sounds like he's doing well

Don't worry Susha, he seems to eat like a miniature lumberjack and is very active. He has grown a lot since hatching.
