I agree!  Her name is Shelly because she wore her shell for awhile apparently :)
Tierra - named for Earth Day - hatched early this morning :-*

"Fleur" fledged early his morning, according to the website. And when I looked at the nest just now, "Pip" seems to have fledged, as well. The nest is empty!

Both baby hummingbirds are looking about, very interested in their surroundings.  They are so crammed into that little nest, but somehow, they adjust, taking turns in different positions, very accommodating to each other.  Phoebe just came by and fed them, so all is right with the world.

Fledgewatch begins today at this site. A lot of "wingersizing" going on in the past few days. :)

That is so beautiful. The people who own this site are sure invested in the success of these hummingbirds!

Wow! That is very interesting to hear of wee "Fleur's" adopted sibling, "Pip"! And the video of the introduction of the 2 baby hummers was very interesting to watch. Thanks for posting, susha! :-*

If this works (very tech-challenged) watch how baby Pip is introduced to Fleur.   :)

We have a second baby! :o

The non-viable egg was removed yesterday by the host of the webcam and an orphaned hummer placed in the nest today.  Phoebe didn't bat an eye, just fed it along with Fleur.  The new adopted baby has been named "Pip".

Yippee!!  What an interesting Phoebe season this is shaping up to be! ;D

Phoebe's FB page says that the second egg isn't viable - at least that's what it said yesterday.  Said that Fleur is an only child. :-\
