Here is Princess checking the box during the banding:

And this is pretty much how Ivy looked the entire time:

Can't wait to see Dennis's pictures!

A very exciting day!  Thanks to everyone for keeping up the running commentary - it was almost as good as being there.  I've very envious of Pam and Linderlou and Mother Hen for being able to watch Princess's carrying on!  I just might take banding day off work next year!  The photos are great.  TPC and her banding crew are great for doing all the banding with as little stress as possible for the "little" ones.

Four sleepy fluffies - two just woke up...

Happy Banding Day everyone!! :) :) :)

And then  Princess (I think) turns up with a meal.  Only two chicks seemed interested.  The other two stayed off to the side, probably full from other meal 20 minutes prior.

Three peacefully sleeping and one standing quietly in the corner -- looks as though they've weathered the great ordeal without any major trauma!

P.S.  I no sooner said that then one popped up his/her head to peer over the edge -- not so sound asleep, after all . . .

When they got put back in the box after banding, two hung out in the corner, monopolizing the camera for at least an hour!  You can't really see their feet however. :(

.....It'll be interesting to see their personalities and to find out who the sopranos are....

Thanks for all the pictures and the play-by-play posts everyone!  And the camera clean up  :D  I can't wait to be able to call the little guys by a name instead of male 1 male 2 etc.  but I'm glad we can tell them apart now (even though I haven't seen any colors yet...).  It'll be interesting to see their personalities and to find out who the sopranos are and whether it's always the same little one who curiously looks over the edge!  ;D

I knew the banding was approx at 2 and got busy outside and forgot, Dah ::)  Will have to watch the video instead. Glad all went well and we have a perfect family of 2 males, 2 females. Kudos to all who did the work :D

Has anyone seen Ivy or Princess checking out their babies and the new "jewelery"?
Pam and I waited for a few minutes to see if Princess went into the box but she didn't appear. Probably getting her feathers unruffled after all the swooping, diving, circling, screeching she did from 2:15 to 2:45 approx. You could not miss her sounds and people were turning their heads trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. Quite an experience and very interesting to see and hear.  8) 8) 8)
On second thought she could have been giving Ivy a peace of her mind for not helping in protecting their kids.  ;D ;D

The way Tracy bands is not very stressful for chicks. She jsut gets down to business and it is done and they are back. No posing or passing around of chicks.

I realize some places do it for their funding commitment and education purposes  , but hats off to Tracy.

I totally agree with you, Bev. For Tracy, it's all about the birds. Thankfully, so far, their lives have been stressfree. ;D
