Rangers' release is taking place this morning at 11 am EST and they're releasing him 30 miles from the site.

You can watch the refresh cams on the home page.  Doubtful we'll see him at the nest box unless Boomer is not around and he zips in un noticed but you never know.

When Milton was released last year, he sped right home and Jack was at our site so he was able to go right to the nest ledge and hang out for awhile.

Thanks for posting this info, LinderLou. Yes, it certainly will be interesting to see what is going to happen if (or should I say when?) Ranger makes his way back to the Terminal Tower in Cleveland. :o Still, I'm happy to hear that he has made such a remarkable recovery. :)

I'll be watching too.  This is reminiscent of Milton and Jack last year after Milton's release - I expect he'll be home quite quickly.  I hope they will have watchers on the ground just in case.

Apparently the release site is 30 miles from Cleveland, so won't take him long to get back to the Terminal Tower site. Will be checking in Sunday to see if he does turn up at the site and if there is a fight between him and Boomer.

Checked in to see if any news on Ranger and saw this posting:

As reported by Chad & Chris today at CMNH. This is such happy news for me.
"Ranger is doing great! He has been successful catching live prey that is released into the cage. Laura hasn't been able to open up the connecting cage for him yet to give him more "flight space" because she has a full house with other raptor patients. But things are still looking good for him to be released, most likely at the end of winter or into the early spring. We plan to make it back there soon and if it works out we'll try to post a pic or two of him with our next update."
