Got back a short time ago from my evening shift, where all went well. Four of us down there. Mr. Red stayed on the roof the whole time, only moving to the far back corner of the CSB, where Barb, one of our watchers, kept an eye on him for the whole evening, and he stayed put. Froona was quiet for about 5 minutes when dad brought her food at about 8:30 p.m. And Mr. Yellow! What a delight to watch him - he flew twice tonight, the last time about 9:00 p.m., and was almost as smooth and strong as his mom and dad. He flew out and around the CSB, made a wider swoop, then landed on the roof of the CSB; he then proceeded to walk over to the near corner, just near the nest box, and jumped up and perched on one of the pillars. It looked like he was planning to stay there for the night, and what a confident looking bird he was, preening and cleaning!
That all for the night. Tomorrow will be possibly a very busy day for our watchers, as we expect Mr. Red to take flight again, and possibly Froona.
