Hi guys. well, man oh man. I wish I could have phoned you Carly. I forgot your number.
I am going to keep you in suspense.
when we got down there we saw the female falcon right away.
I will post pictures later. Not good ones as I only had small camera.
Here we go
2:45 Edmonton time.
female falcon on tower to the left of nest box. Just sitting so beautifully.
Obviously from your reports there was a raven inside. i could not see that.
She was so beautiful and I am guessing it was RAdisson as she was so comfortable.
she did not make a sound and then flew off about 15 minutes later. so I assumed no one was in the box. and that she went hunting.
I want to see no one hurt. she is smart, our girl. Never made a move to go inside.
We walked around looking for ravens and falcons. I assumed the female falcon took a break.
We walked all round the University. We watched from the parkade for quite awhile .
We thought we saw one Raven behind the parkade trying to rouse the magpie out of its nest. Maybe looking for a spot for his bride.
So as we were heading back to parkade, I looked up and there was the female falcon flying back to clinical science building.
She rested on the front part of the jut , where Cassie did her first flight, and was beautiful. and then that beautiful sound. she started cacking and cacking.
This was about 4:45pm Edmonton time. these times are approximate.Peter said the camera has exact time.
She then started to fly around the area. It was beautiful and then she started doing flybys past the nest box screaming. Then I realized there must be a raven inside.
She did this several times and then flew off. There were no attacks by any ravens. Not one in sight, but I knew there must be one in the box.
No sign all the time I was down there of the male raven , unless that was him over behind the parkade. Radisson was not in danger at all. but I was in agony.
After a bit we went for supper down at the university. I convinced Peter that I had to stay.
If I could have gone up that ladder today, I would have. My heart felt for the raven , but I was so happy for RAdisson. I think the white structure hindered her flying too close to box.
When we came out of supper, I looked up and saw a falcon circling around the area by the clinical science and calling.
I will write part 2 in next post sorry I had to correct some things
