She must be used to these storms though, because in the past two weeks, I think this is the third lightning/thunder storm that I've witnessed at this nest, so they may have been even more frequent than that.  (and I don't mean to sound hard-hearted, but just hoping she's used to it and ok!)

Hopefully it helps put the all night light in perspective for her and makes it seem better than this at least!

Poor guys, yucky weather and lots of lightening!  I thought at first the camera was periodically taking still photos! :-[

Anyone noticed the little one was sitting there opening it's beak but no sound?

I'm sorry, I just can't help posting 'cause this is just too good!  In the past twenty minutes, these chicks have just been fed 5 (yes, 5!) courses of a whole bird each time (between them, not each!)  Is that unusual?  I don't think I've ever seen a parent come and go so many times for more food! Talk about full crops on those little chicks! They might actually fall forward due to the weight imbalance!  ;D

And now a second course in a slightly more orderly, but not less noisy fashion!

oh! the best example of mum intervening with dad bringing in prey and grabbing it from him with a lot of screaming before he could get any closer than the cross bar a hop away from the box!

And wow! Fiesty chicks grabbing the food away from mum, but she held her own and got it back. No qualms about grabbing food and playing tug-of-war with it and the other chicks, either!   That one in particular must take after their mum's character!
