If the fallen chick is below, either on the lower ledge or on the ground, maybe Mom is staying with her??

So mom hasn't been around for over 2 hours?  I'm starting to get worried.

I wish the outside cam was on. I think I heard some squawking from just below the box close to the cam and microphone... maybe it's just wishful thinking but I've now got the volume up (a bit) and I'm watching the other two when the squawking starts again..

I think you're right.  One of the females fell out.  I think the male is going to fly off soon.  He just went over and stepped on his napping sister and started flapping and going to the edge.  Chirped as if to tell her to go with him.

I think they are getting very close to fledging, but not quite yet, in my humble opinion...still a little too much down on them..but I would think they should move to the perch very, very soon.  I'm a little surprised they aren't already out there...but what do I know... :)

I'm off to bed...maybe some of you could call in the morning...They open at 7:30...but the emergency line is probably 24/7.  I won't be able to to call again until I get home from work.

I can't imagine they would put her back in the box (if she's ok )for fear of forcing a premature fledge..but ya never know...

NIte all...

if you look now they are side by side and the male is definitely still in the box...

Wow, look at the size difference between the male and female; they're sitting next to each other.

that timing sounds right. my earlier reference to time is for Toronto time and I think Minnesota is one hour behind.

I'm not so sure that it was the male. The one farthest from the camera (now perched on the edge!) may be the male...

It happened sometime before 9 eastern time...Mom has been back briefly...I did not see it personally but was alerted by someone else who had been watching the cam (long story)..anyway..can't say for certain that he/she is not right below the box or to the side...the person I spoke with at GR was very nice and didn't laugh at me...thank goodness...I'm sure Mine will not be the only phone call...please see the link below and it will give you an idea of what the nest box looks like and where it is located...if he/she did fall, lets hope its to that landing below the box...

I saw her briefly on the outer ledge at around 8. She and two remaining were all looking down.... then she left and I haven't seen her since...

Has mom been back?  Does she notice that she's missing a baby?

yay! thank you SGB! this site is so good except there's no way (I thought) to contact someone if something happens. I really hope he's okay. I've had it up all day and watching him being more and more daring and then next time I looked, he was gone. It must have happened between 6;30 and 8.....
