I didn't mean that to sound like a complaint - the fisheye is a good choice because it expands our field of view and I do like seeing the perch (though right now I wish mom would come in out of the rain!).  I just mean I can't tell size well.

Sorry Pchemist, but I love the fish-eye.  It's close enough for me that it's not virtigo-inducing.  Now, just waiting for the lens to be cleaned!

I think so too, JL, but when they fluff up a bit it's a little harder for me to be sure - and the fisheye lens just messes with my sense of size/proportion. 

sometimes they are so still that I think the cam froze, then I see the cars in the background.

They dirtied up that spot on purpose; that's where they usually hang out.    I think that's Mom perched out there watching her babes.  She has speckles on her chest that goes up further than Dad.

it's like the chicks know that if they sit in a pile in just this one spot, we can't see them.   

mom or dad (too far to get a good look at coloring, but I think it's mom) is sitting out on the perch keeping an eye on everything.  feathers are puffed up so perhaps it's a little chilly still.  looks like rain though, too.

I decided it was just too gross to watch tonight!  I closed it down about 5 mins ago.

based on the timing of banding last year and the size of these big guys now, I think we might see banding this weekend...

Another feeding . . .  just watch a skinny bird foot vanish down a chick's throat.

Wow, they polished off that bird in about 30 seconds and they're still hungry!   Vanished!  Not a feather left.
