It seemed like it was clearing up, here in the south end of the city, but it's darkened up again and just now started raining again :P

So the little dry kids might be getting wet again if this rain is hitting downtown :(

1727h - chicks have moved up further on the gravel (closer to where they hatched) and are sound asleep in a pile together.  They are drying out nicely - not completely dry yet, but getting there.

1456h - chicks soaking wet but hanging out together by the wall ... bit of water collecting in the spot with the concrete (where they like to hang out in the shade) but not enough to get the chicks' toes wet or close enough to make them think they will move onto a higher spot.  Both are just sitting there soaking wet with their eyes closed - like their mother did when it was raining on her three weeks ago just after their late sibling hatched.  Got the best of their mother's genes it looks like ...  ;)

Nope, pouring rain on the ledge but the wind is from the NW so only getting wet not blown about as well ...

Chronology this morning ....

0444h - first meal on-camera - only one chick was interested, so must have had a meal pre-dawn
0723h - second meal - this time both chicks were eating
napping against the back wall since second meal ... large white pile with some wing feather tips showing ...


Weather for today and tonight ...

Day - Overcast with thunderstorms. High of 22C. Breezy. Winds from the SSE at 10 to 30 km/h. Chance of rain 90% with rainfall amounts near 10.2 mm possible.
Night - Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain in the evening, then overcast. Low of 15C. Breezy. Winds from the SW at 10 to 25 km/h.

I suspect that the server where the Radisson cam is being housed also has another/other high volume traffic - we've had this before and there has usually been another big event, like a hockey game or some such.  Perhaps Calgary flooding videos.  Last time it cleared up in a couple of hours.  The cameras on the Radisson are working find and you aren't missing anything, the chicks are sound asleep and have been for the last three hours.

And yes, I have an email into the CBC ...

Same here, no Radisson cam   :-\ - Kids are going to get wet from the sounds of the forecast - lots of rain today & tonight.  :(

Can't get the Radisson cam this morning.  It keeps saying "not available".  I can get the Brandon cam though.  Any ideas what the problem is?

Chronology for today ....

0440h - meal & Princess hung out on the ledge until 0600h which chicks napped
0721h - Princess returned and chicks woke up to hang out with her
0802h - Ivy turned up with food, followed by Princess and then she took the meal and fed the chicks
chicks napping
1130h - chicks woke up and wandered a bit
1152h - Ivy brought in food - larger chick snatched away and didn't share with sibling
1329h - Ivy brought more food - both chicks tussled for food and smaller chick won (mostly) but had to share a bit
1429h - Princess feed food to the chicks


Weather for today & tonight ...

Day - Overcast with thunderstorms. High of 27C. Breezy. Winds from the SE at 10 to 20 km/h. Chance of rain 90% with rainfall amounts near 5.3 mm possible.
Night - Overcast with thunderstorms. Low of 19C. Winds from the SSE at 10 to 15 km/h. Chance of rain 90% with rainfall amounts near 10.4 mm possible.

The chicks sure look like they must be feeling awfully warm, sprawled out there on the nest ledge this afternoon.
