Ivy had a very interesting little visit to the nestbox today.  Not unusual for him to visit at least once a day, but today he launched himself into the box and was completely undercover, not sure anyone could see him from the "outside".  Not sure if he was doing ... then he came out and parked himself on the box edge and has been there for the last hour.

Can't say he is a boring bird to watch ...  ::)

This photo came to us from Daniel R who took this photo of Tenzing (I believe) - photo taken out the window on the 26th floor of the Radisson (facing south).

Forecast for Friday ...

Day - Partly cloudy in the morning, then clear. High of 18C. Breezy. Winds from the NNE at 15 to 20 km/h.
Night - Partly cloudy. Low of 10C. Winds from the North at 10 to 15 km/h.


Some of you may have noticed that there appears to be something over the ledge edge at the bottom of the image on the cam, that is a piece of flashing from the roof that has come loose - if flaps on and off periodically.  I have let the Hotel know in case they are planning some work on that side of the building after the birds have left.  Is it dangerous?  No, its basically just thick paper ... but it does show what could happen if we put a nestbox on there that we couldn't maintain in some way ...

I'm going to leave the cam on the ledge in case Hillary or Tenzing come back to visit like they did yesterday ... haven't seen them at the nestbox on the west side yet but if they turn up there, I'll switch over if I can ...

Was downtown this evening around 8:00 and saw two land one after the other on the SW corner of the Delta on the highest point. Came in very nicely and with no problems. Our fledglings are getting the hang of it.
