Love the photos Dennis.  Especially the first one of a chick by himself in the bucket.  SO cute.  Also think it's so cool how the adults feet are all tucked in when they fly and then there are the shots with the feet out ready to grab  :o.  Sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those feet!!!

Glad to see both chicks in the nest box this morning!!!

Great photos - I love the chicks in the bucket photos - they are just too cute.

I didn't realize that they had so many flight feathers already coming in at banding age  - it's really clear in IMG 0002-1 of the Brandon chicks. . .then I went back to look at the Radisson banding photos and see that they all started with the flight feathers in their "arm pits".

Chick pile in the back of the Brandon nest box this morning.

It was quite the stressful morning Kinderchick!  He lept out of the box right in front of my eyes as I checked in before heading off to work.  I frantically took screenshots and uploaded them and posted and, and, and... *exhale*... thankfully he got himself back into the nest a few hours later and hopefully won't be trying that again anytime soon (one can hope, however unrealistic it might be!).

And RCF, thanks for the explanation.  And here I thought it was some Peregrine saying... ::)  LOL.

Wow! :o I missed all of the escapee's escapades today, with the business of the last day of school. It was great to catch up! Thanks everyone, for all of the posts and for your fabulous video of Rosser's wanderings, rcf. :-*

Our Brandon escapee was Rosser ... starting early on those "hit and run raids"!

I haven't been around long enough to know what this means...  ???
The "hit and run raids" refers to Thomas Lafayette (Tex) Rosser (October 15, 1836 - March 29, 1910) was a Confederate general during the American Civil War, and later an officer in the Spanish American War and railroad construction engineer. A favorite of J.E.B. Stuart, he was noted for his daring cavalry raids, efficiency in handling combat troops, and tactical brilliance.
