Evening snack time. Looked like a small bird with long legs.

Both chicks very interested in the food and could hardly wait for parent to remove feathers.

Both chicks took a turn at the long leg. One chick had it in his/her mouth and was opening his/her mouth asking for more food from the parent. But it's hard to eat yummy chunks of bird when you have a leg in your mouth. :P

Parent finally reached over and pulled the long leg, put it aside and fed chick.

Little chick pile in the corner. They are so white and fluffy compared to the Radisson chicks . . but I'm sure it won't be long before they start to get their dark feathers.

Anyone notice that the window cam is frozen, the streaming bar keeps going across but the picture is frozen, three people have commented on CBC site and RCF said it was happening just before she left for Brandon about 4:00pm,maybe too many storms and another one predicted for this evening, Thank goodness the chicks are big enough to wade in the pool.

I noticed it too Rose.  When I checked from our side the streaming was fine, so its not the camera.  No problem with the Radisson Cam at the same time, so I'm not sure its a CBC streaming problem.  Maybe too much traffic on the Brandon Cam site?  Could be the Westman connection - problems related to the continued high water in Brandon?

Its 1912 hrs now and the image is streaming fine ... two chicks in the box, one trying to nap, the other lying on top of him/her and talking to someone ...

:-\ Well, at least it froze on a beautiful father's day scene. The arms are softly gathred around the chicks. :)

Looks like the kids have "weathered" the storm.  Glad to see all is well in the nest.
We have 22 and sunny skies here in Brandon, so hopefully that nest box will dry out completely today.

The chicks are two weeks old at this point and are very capable of handling the weather these days though some added protection from Mom and Dad is very welcome - not to mention the company :)

Kids look like they're ready for a mid-morning snack and Mom's standing by, patiently waiting for something to be dropped off, but looks like Dad's out shooting a round of golf in the rare Brandon sun.  And why not?  Happy Father's Day, Brooklyn!

Right now, they're basking in the warm sun while they can ::)

I was very alarmed when I tuned in last night to see the nestbox full of water - so relieved to see that all is well this morning :)

Methinks these little ones will be mighty strong with all the hardships they've had to endure so far in their young lives!

Well here we go again! It's all cleared off, still a few clouds in the east, the sun will soon be shining but guess what the forecast says (chance of thunder showers)maybe it will pass us by and head to Winnipeg instead we sure don't need any more rain! The chicks look fine this morning and mom is off the nest, I guess she's gone to dry her tail feathers.

Just catching up and I have to say I love the picture of Dad with the kids.  That one is priceless.  Great job on the other pictures and the videos.  I just can't believe all the rain.  Winnipeg isn't getting any.  I just finished watering my plants because they were so dry.  I am glad the water did not harm the chicks.
